Eventually Rabbi Buechler received his Doctor of Divinity from JTS in 2011. Over the years, Rabbi Buechler has held several leadership and Rabbinical governance positions in the New York Metro area.

He has also traveled extensively to Israel (eighty times), led numerous congregational trips and has explored Jewish communities throughout Europe visiting over 450 synagogues from Toledo to Krakow, Szeged to Cherasco.  His ability to bring a Jewish historical perspective to these tours have inspired many of his congregants in search for their own roots.
