Born 1947 to Harry and Lena Betron, youngest of three children, David grew up in Flatbush, Brooklyn, attending Erasmus Hall High School, where he played Shortstop on their Baseball team. David’s education continued at the University of Pittsburgh, graduating in 1968 with a degree in Sociology.
In the summer of 1965, as a waiter at Camp Leonard Lenore in Connecticut, he met his future wife, Francine, a junior counselor, showing his interest by lavishing her with extra helpings of grape jelly. They married in 1970, moved to Cedarhurst in 1977, and joined Temple Beth El.
Following his interest in Sociology, in 1968, David became a case worker for the Human Resources Administration of the City of New York, eventually moving up to the position of Case Supervisor. To earn extra income David would spend evenings as a process server.
David left the HRA In 1989 and founded Metro Process & Investigations, Inc., and became a member of the National Association of Professional Process Servers. He remains active, personally serving legal notices throughout the entire Metropolitan region and Nationwide. David also enjoys playing tennis three days a week.
Francine became an Elementary School teacher in 1970 and sadly passed away on September 1, 2023. Their son, Eric, is a successful attorney.
As an active member of the Men’s Club, David has been instrumental in the success of our annual Yom HaShoah Candle program and is always ready to help out with other Men’s Club projects and activities. He is also a member of Temple Beth El’s Board of Trustees. We are proud to recognize his importance by naming him as our Man of the Year.
