MYRON BAER

Myron Baer comes to Forest Hills Jewish Center having grown up in the traditional German Community of Washington Height. Born and raised there, Myron attended Yeshivah for 12 years followed by graduating Cum Laude from the City College system.

Today he is Managing Director for Orpheo US/Canada, a global company which supplies software, hardware and content for museums and exhibits worldwide. His roadtrip of experience includes 20 years in tour and travel, 10 years in optometry, and 10 years as an owner in the Graphic Arts industry.

When not spending time as President of his co-op or volunteering for the FHJC Men’s Club, Myron can be seen playing around New York with various Rock and Roll bands or walking around with a Nikon around his neck. In summer, along with his wife Debra of 30+ years, they cruise NYS in their classis 1963 Oldsmobile. The couple also have a 22-year-old son, Max.

LEAH SCHUTZ

Leah Schutz is a senior at Queens Metropolitan High School, where she tutors Italian and leads the American Sign Language Club, which she founded in her junior year. Leah is the lead designer and manager of her school’s mural team, as well as a member of the National Honors Society. She is a Kol Koleinu fellow, which is a Jewish teen feminist program run by Moving Traditions. Her main focus within the program is to break the stigma by educating others on reproductive rights, which she does from a Judaic lens. She has been a member of Kadima and USY, along with being both a camper and counselor at Sababa Surf Camp, which is a Jewish camp where she gained her passion for surfing.
