YOUTH OF THE YEAR
Ethan Rogers

Midway Jewish Center

Ethan Rogers is a senior at the Schechter School of Long Island and has been a student there since Kindergarten. In school, he is editor in-chief of Paw Print Now, the daily news blog, co-president of Maker Space/Robotics Club, a captain of the Mock Trial team, and a Freshmen Peer Connector. On a bi-weekly basis he participates in the ACE Mentorship Program, where he develops his skills in architecture at H2M Architects and Engineers.

As a member of Midway Jewish Center for many years, Ethan found his home in Kadima and USY. He was first involved in Jr. Kadima in elementary school, and then Kadima in middle school and USY in high school. Ethan served as Religion/Education (Rel/Ed) Vice President on Midway’s 2017-2018 USY board and now serves at METNY Regional Rel/Ed Vice President and USY International Rel/Ed. Aside from his chapter and regional experience, he traveled on USY on Wheels Classic over summer 2017 and on Eastern Europe/Israel Pilgrimage over summer 2018.

Ethan would like to study architecture in college. He has developed a passion for design throughout his life due to his prior love for LEGOs and his more recent hobby devoted to fabricating creative birthday gifts for his friends. In his free time, he enjoys trying out new restaurants, traveling to New York City to see Broadway plays, and watching TV shows such as The Office and Black Mirror on Netflix. Ethan is honored to accept this award. Support Ethan Rogers by placing an ad in his honor.
