Temple Gates of Prayer 2026




William (Bill) Youberg has been an active member of Temple Gates of Prayer, Flushing, for approximately 25 years. He is a regular attendee at, and participant in, the weekly Shabbat services and Yontif services. Bill is always ready to assist whenever he is called upon.
A few years after becoming a member at TGP, Bill participated in the Bar Mitzvah Reaffirmation event created and coordinated by TGP’s Rabbi Albert Thaler (Of Blessed Memory), in 2010.
Bill has been involved in coordinating TGP’s participation in the annual Israeli Day Parade in Manhattan. He journeyed to Washington DC to attend the rally held there after the horrifying events which occurred on Oct 7, 2023. Outside of TGP, Bill donates his time and efforts as an active member of the Flushing Jewish Community Council (FJCC) an organization that provides many services to help support residents of Queens. This organization coordinates and supports a variety of food banks in Queens County. They are involved in arranging various mental health programs such as a counseling program that works with families going through divorce, as well as workshops such as the heart group focusing on healing from emotional anger and relationship trauma.
In his professional life, Bill is a vocational rehabilitation counselor working for the New York State Commission for the Blind. He helps individuals who are legally blind and deafblind to improve and enhance lives through independent living and vocational services.
In all aspects of his business and personal life, Bill is devoted to helping people. He selflessly thinks of others first.
The Temple Gates of Prayer Men’s Club is proud to name William Youberg as its Men’s Club Man of the Year for 2026.
