Seth Mauner

Seth and Adam Mauner have been active members of the East Meadow Beth-El Jewish Center since early childhood. Both began attending Shabbat services as infants and started their Jewish education at the Ilene M. Rubin Nursery School. They continued through Hebrew School and were regular participants in Junior Congregation. Seth attended Hebrew High School at EMBEJC until it closed, after which both brothers continued their studies at South Shore Chai Hebrew High School.

Seth has consistently demonstrated leadership and commitment to Jewish life. He helped establish a Kadima program at EMBEJC and, following his Bar Mitzvah, became a regular presence at Shabbat and Sunday Shacharit services. He was actively involved in USY, representing EMBEJC at USY Encampment and serving as Religious Education Vice President. Outside the synagogue, Seth was a leader in student government at East Meadow High School and served as Vice President of EPIC, proudly promoting Israeli culture. Now a student at SUNY Albany, Seth remains deeply involved in Jewish life through Hillel, Shabbos House, and AEPi. Even while away at college, he maintains a strong connection to EMBEJC and continues to lead Junior Congregation services when home for holidays.

Adam has also remained an engaged and dedicated member of the EMBEJC community since his Bar Mitzvah. He has been active in USY since eighth grade and currently serves as Religious Education Vice President. A regular davener and occasional Haftarah reader, Adam is a consistent presence at Shabbat services. Beyond synagogue life, he plays roller hockey and lacrosse, is an active member of EPIC, and is regularly cast in leading roles in his school’s theatrical productions. Adam continues to attend South Shore Chai Hebrew High School and serves as a leader in Junior Congregation, where he supports younger students and fosters a welcoming and meaningful prayer experience.

Through their leadership, dedication, and love of Jewish life, Seth and Adam serve as outstanding role models—not only for the younger members of the EMBEJC community, but especially for their younger brother, Evan, a recent graduate of our EMBEJC Hebrew School who is currently preparing for his Bar Mitzvah this fall and hopes to follow in their footsteps.
